Bears add Top Prospect from Breezy Point

SPRINGFIELD, MO – Breezy Point North Stars defenseman, Patrik Johansson, is the latest to commit to Missouri State University for the 2016-2017 campaign.

The Sorunda, Sweden native says he chose Missouri State due to the great reputation of the hockey program around the NA3HL.

The 6’0, 200 lbs defenseman said he prides himself on being a stable shut-down defensemen and he gives his team his best every game.  Breezy Point head coach Jeff Worlton agrees.

“As a defenseman, he flies under the radar a lot. One thing with Pat, you get his best every night,” said Worlton.

Johansson said he models his game after Detroit Redwings blue liner, Niklas Kronwall. “I love that he can make plays and lay people out.”

While playing at Breezy Point, Johansson recorded 9 points and 64 PIMs in 47 games during the 2015-2016 season. Johansson was also selected to Team West in the NA3HL Top Prospects Game.

“I want to be a dependable guy night in and night out. There is only one thing to my mind and that’s winning a National championship” Johansson said. “That’s why we play.”

Johansson said he plans on studying business while in Springfield. “I chose to commit to Missouri State because it’s a great school and I think I will thrive both as a student and as an athlete.”

When not on the ice or in the classroom, Johansson enjoys watching the English Premier Soccer League.
